Biography

Mauro Icardi was born in Rosario, Argentina on February 19, 1993 and moved with his family to Canary Island, Spain when he was six years old. He started his football career by joining Vecindario in Gran Canaria.

During his six year career as a young soccer player with Vecindario, Icardi managed to show his stunning performance as a spearhead. He scored about 500 goals for his team.

His undoubted capabilities led some European big club managers to target him into the team. Barcelona, ​​Real Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Espanyol, Deportivo La Coruna, Arsenal and Liverpool flocked to offer him a contract at the end of the 2007-2008 season.

Icardi decided to join the Catalonia-based team, F.C. Barcelona and agreed to sign a five-year contract with team management.

Icardi officially joined Barcelona at the beginning of the 2008-2009 season and became one of the retainers in the squad U17 Barcelona team. In the next season he was promoted to join the U19 squad, but he had to join Sampdoria as a loan player in January 2011.

Sampdoria's management confirmed to the media that the Argentine striker had signed a loan contract until the end of the season.
